Woodruff County Criminal Docket Searches
Start online with the free Search ARCourts portal. Choose Woodruff County and the right court location when those filters appear. A felony belongs to Woodruff County Circuit Court. Misdemeanors and ordinance cases may sit under the Augusta or McCrory District Court department. Early felony proceedings may sit there too. Searching only one level can hide the record you need.
Use the full case number when you have it. Without one, query the participant's legal name. Drop the middle name if the search comes back empty. Search ARCourts does no fuzzy matching. Cotton Plant and Patterson matters take extra care. Those lower-court dockets now route through Augusta.
- Choose the likely Circuit or District Court level before entering search terms.
- Search the exact case or citation number, or use the public participant name.
- Open the result that matches the court, filing date, case type, and case style.
- Read Docket Entries in date order, then check charges, future events, pleas, and dispositions.
- Call the filing clerk when a case or needed document is not public online.
Woodruff Criminal Courts by Offense
Jurisdiction splits the Woodruff County criminal court dockets. Under the Arkansas Circuit Court structure, felony trials stay in the general-jurisdiction court. District Court takes misdemeanors, traffic and ordinance violations, and the early felony functions: warrants, summonses, reasonable-cause review, first appearance, counsel advice or appointment, and release inquiry.
| Matter | Woodruff court | Custodian or fallback |
|---|---|---|
| Felony prosecution | Circuit Court | Circuit Clerk, 870-347-2391 |
| Misdemeanor or ordinance | Augusta or McCrory District Court | Department clerk |
| Preliminary felony event | District Court before transfer | Search both court levels |
| Cotton Plant or Patterson matter | Augusta administration | Augusta, 870-347-2790 |
| Juvenile delinquency | Circuit juvenile division | Lawful access through Circuit Clerk |
The official Circuit Court page provides useful jurisdiction context.
That structure explains a common docket trap. A felony result belongs in the Circuit Court search even when the first event started in District Court.
Criminal Dockets: What They Show
Think of a Woodruff County criminal docket as a chronology, not the whole file. The header identifies the matter. Dated entries track what was filed or what occurred. Some entries link to a public image. Other documents sit only with the clerk or are restricted from Internet display. Financial, bond, and document fields are not guaranteed in every result.
| Case identity | Case number, case style, court, location, filing date, and case type. |
|---|---|
| Public participants | State and defendant roles, attorneys, and judge where displayed. |
| Charge detail | Violation, charge, citation, plea, and charge-level disposition where public. |
| Docket Entries | Dated filings, settings, orders, hearings, and other case events. |
| Outcome | Disposition, judgment or sentence entries, plus later post-judgment activity. |
| Access status | Public filing links when allowed, or security and restriction limits. |
Copy any displayed case number exactly. The county publishes no official local criminal case-number mask, so an invented example would mislead a docket search.

McCrory runs its own docket at 870-731-2041. The county contact form is only a routing fallback. Its warning says not to send sensitive identifiers through plain email.

Criminal Case Stages on the Docket
A criminal case can open with a citation, complaint, arrest-related entry, prosecutor's information, or indictment. A District Court first appearance may precede a felony's move to Circuit Court. Arraignment records the plea. Pretrial entries then show motions, disclosure-related orders, notices, and resets. From there, a plea hearing, bench trial, or jury trial moves the docket forward. The result is a charge-level outcome and sentence.
Docket flow: Filing → Arraignment → Pretrial → Plea or Trial → Disposition → Sentencing
The docket does not stop at judgment. A correction, revocation matter, appeal notice, or appellate mandate can add later entries. For fuller technique, the Woodruff County docket search explains name and case-number routes.
Woodruff Criminal Disposition Terms
Read outcome labels at the charge level. A closed case marking does not itself show conviction, acquittal, or dismissal. The actual entry and order supply that context. Bond activity concerns release security, not the merits outcome.
- Nolle prosequi
- The prosecutor discontinued a charge. It is not the same as an acquittal.
- Dismissed
- The charge ended in that proceeding. The order may explain why and whether refiling is possible.
- Convicted
- Guilt was recorded by plea or adjudication. Sentencing may appear in a later entry.
- Acquitted
- The adjudication did not result in conviction on that charge.
- Bond forfeiture
- A bond-related consequence, not a final ruling on guilt.
The official Circuit judge directory shows the regional judicial structure.
The directory helps you identify the court. Still, the docket and a current court notice control case-specific events.
Woodruff County Criminal Docket Courts
Augusta and McCrory are the two active District Court spots in Woodruff County. The official administrative plan says Patterson waived separate sessions in 2021. Cotton Plant is inactive, and Augusta hears its dockets monthly. A citation may still carry the city of origin. Check that context plus Augusta before deciding a case is absent.
Felony trials stay with Woodruff County Circuit Court at the courthouse. District Court can handle a felony's first steps. But a later Circuit Court prosecution creates a separate chronology. A District Court appeal likewise produces a Circuit Court record. It is not an extended lower-court screen.
Note: Court location is a search key, not just a place to appear. Choosing the wrong level can hide the result.
Woodruff Rule 8 Criminal Settings
Rule 8 hearings across the Fifteenth District run on a Zoom schedule. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are the hearing days, spread over the district's departments. These early criminal settings cover rights, appointed counsel, and questions about release. That schedule does not mean every Woodruff County criminal docket will go remote on one of those days. Staff at the court supply the actual setting plus the connection instructions.
Augusta holds an "All Dockets" setting on the third Tuesday at 11:00 a.m., along with Thursday sessions. McCrory's session falls on the first Tuesday. The older plan lists a Tuesday time. Check it against current court instructions before relying on it. A recurring calendar shows the court's pattern, not whether a case stayed set after a continuance or later order.
Confirm the live setting. Read the latest entry, then call the assigned court with the public case number, date, place, setting type, and any remote-access question.
Access Rules for Criminal Dockets
Arkansas keeps its court-record access rules in Supreme Court Administrative Order 19. Case facts and events can show up online. Protected data, sealed or expunged material, juvenile content, and certain filings stay off the screen. An entry may lack an attachment. That can simply mean Internet display is barred. Other public access may still exist.
The Arkansas FOIA, Ark. Code §25-19-101 et seq., covers public records broadly. A judicial case record request is different. It belongs with the court's custodian under Administrative Order 19. Ark. Code §9-27-309 can close juvenile records. Sealing of qualifying criminal records runs through Ark. Code §§16-90-1401 et seq. No form letter can override a seal or a confidentiality rule.
Public access rule: Ask the filing clerk which law, rule, or order controls a denial and whether a redacted copy or lawful inspection is available.

Use the statute portal to confirm the current text of any law. The Woodruff filing clerk still holds the official case record.
Woodruff Criminal Filing Fallbacks
A dead filing link tells you nothing. The document may still sit in the court file. Write down the event title and date, then request that exact charging document, motion, order, judgment, sentencing paper, or case-events sheet. Is the whole case missing online? Ask whether it is paper, microfilm, archived, or filed under a legacy case number.
The circuit counter, the clerk phone and fax, Augusta District Court, and McCrory District Court all work as access routes. A written or mailed request should name several things. Include the court, case number, public case style, document title, event date, copy type, delivery method, and a cost cap. Confirm the current fee, payment method, postage, and turnaround first. Search ARCourts costs nothing, though printing a public screen never produces a certified record.
